Founded by Janet McInnes in Oct 2015, Leith Yoga is a boutique yoga studio in the heart of Leith in Edinburgh, offering intimate Forrest Yoga classes and 1-2-1 sessions.

Forrest Yoga is a powerful healing practice that has been developed by Ana T. Forrest over 40 years to specifically address the physical and emotional stresses and challenges that we face in our modern lives.

With a focus on the four principles of Breath, Strength, Integrity and Spirit, Forrest Yoga is an inspiring workout that teaches you to breathe deeply and connect in feeling to your body.

Forrest Yoga does not require strength and flexibility, only a willingness to feel and respond with honesty. Through intelligent sequencing you will learn to build flexibility, intelligence and strength, while connecting to your core and unwinding the neck, shoulders and hips. Alongside this physical evolution comes a deeper connection to your authentic self by cultivating self-awareness, integrity and playful curiosity in your practice.

And, breathing deeply, sweating and playing upside down sure is an exhilarating way to spend time together in a group."

Siobhan Wilson Forrest Yoga Teacher Siobhan completed her Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training with Ana Forrest in Sydney in May 2015, and subsequently undertook the Forrest Yoga Mentorship Program with Forrest Yoga Guardian, Sandra Robinson, in Peterborough in 2016.  Siobhan's journey as a healer began many years ago when she set out on her training to become a doctor.  After four years of medical school she was unable to pursue her studies further due to the onset of chronic anxiety and depression.  Conventional medical and psychological treatment proved of little benefit in managing her mental health problems.  This motivated Siobhan to try alternative forms of therapy, such as yoga.  She tried a number of different styles before she discovered Forrest Yoga, at which point something just "clicked".  Siobhan found she could use the healing and therapeutic properties of Forrest Yoga as a means of navigating the emotional turmoil and mental anguish inherent with being a life-long perfectionist and over-thinker, and work towards breaking free of these habitual tendencies.  Her wish is to share the benefits of Forrest Yoga that allowed her to take responsibility for her own healing and change her life for the better.

Jane Mann Forrest Yoga Teacher  Jane completed the Forrest Yoga Foundation Training with Ana Forrest in September 2017. She also holds a 200-hour Hatha Yoga Certificate and has been teaching in Edinburgh for two years. Having practised with Janet at Leith Yoga for over a year, she has also completed CPD trainings with Forrest Guardians Jambo Truong and Sandra Robinson, and is excited to join Jambo and Brian Campbell for the Yoga Bodyworkers Training in November 2017. “I’ve been practising yoga for many years to help me balance my emotions and ride life a little easier, but once I started practicing Forrest, yoga became something else entirely: for me, it does more than balance – it gets into all the nooks and crannies where pain and fear have hidden themselves, it gifts you with your own breath to choose what you do with it from there. The way I witness myself on the mat, when challenged, acts as a clear mirror for how I react to challenges in my life day-to-day. To say I’m excited about teaching and sharing this practice at Leith Yoga is a massive understatement!”
